Face The Facts
summary
I designed an app that scans election posters to display key information about candidates. Launched just before Germany's federal election, the app quickly gained traction, achieving over 10,000 downloads in its first month.
challenge
People often don't know what politicians stand for and who influences them. Election posters are not informative enough to inform oneself deeply. And who wants to browse through endless pages on the internet to get more specific information on every politician? That's why we made it our mission to make it as easy as possible to choose the best candidate.
solution
FaceTheFacts let's you scan an election poster and shows you important information about this candidate. You can see their voting behaviour, speeches, articles, side jobs, biography and more. FaceTheFacts is non-profit and open-source.
my part
I worked with a team of fellow students and was responsible for every design aspect from feature ideation, wireframing, prototyping, user testing (talked to over 40 people) to UI design.
